Joint Programme on Accelerating Rural Women’s Economic Empowerment (JPRWEE) of the Pacific Islands
Kastom Gaden Association (KGA) is contracted by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) to implement selected activities under the Joint Programme on Accelerating Rural Women’s Economic Empowerment of the Pacific Islands (JP RWEE Phase II).
This program, initiated through a contract signed on December 22, 2023, and running until 31/12/2027, aims to secure rural women’s livelihoods, rights, and resilience, building on the complementary expertise of UN agencies (IFAD, FAO, UN Women, and WFP).
KGA’s responsibilities focus on supporting 3080 direct beneficiaries, including establishing 1500 home gardens for rural women attending maternal health clinics, bolstering seed multiplication and distribution via 10 germplasm centres, delivering capacity building on climate smart farming practices to 3000 rural women, and strengthening 10 existing women’s producer groups through tailored support.
