KGA was the recipient of a Grant Agreement from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) for the Pacific Islands Rural Agriculture Stimulus Facility (PIRAS) — ICT4D for Solomon Islands Farmers project.
The project objectives are to strengthen and promote Information and Communication Technology for Development (ICT4D) to enhance sustainable economic opportunities for smallholder farmers.
This involves:
- improving service delivery
- enhancing databases
- supporting KGA staff training in ICT tools
- and piloting market linkages.
The direct target beneficiaries are smallholder farmers, primarily members of KGA’s Planting Material Network (PMN), which boasts approximately 7,000 members.
