November 10, 2022

Kastom Gaden Association (KGA) made free donation of vegetable seedlings to the Solomon Islands National Institute of Sport (SINIS) in recognizing the importance of healthy and balanced diet to improve athletes’ performance.

The seedlings donated will help SINIS Nutrition team to start its gardening efforts for fresh vegetables in supporting athletes – the key to excellent athletic performance and optimal fitness.

KGA Planting Material Network (PMN) Coordinator Esther Lodu said her organization is committed to partnering with SINIS to promote the local food system within the sporting community.

“Our donation is to support our athletes,” she says.

“We see the importance of a healthy and balanced diet in nutrition that will help impact training and performance, and we are happy for towards this support.

She also acknowledged SINIS for giving them the opportunity at the Pasifiki HR Athlete Career & Education Expo and being awarded the ‘Most Prepared Stall.’
